Our Philosophy
"MEY" originates from the Japanese phrase Issyou-kenmei, meaning "a dedication with the best efforts." We utilize sensitivity in our precision craft, doing whatever it takes to make your day — and to have you walking out of our doors feeling marvelous.

Each cut is a collaboration between stylist and client. Our Tokyo-trained team brings the precision of Japanese technique to every haircut — from transformative full cuts to meticulous bang trims.

Color
From subtle roots touch-ups to dramatic full balayage transformations. For color services, we ask you to email reference photos of your desired color and current shade so we can prepare the right products and allocate adequate time.

Treatments
Deep moisturizing treatments, Olaplex repair, and our exclusive Bykarte treatment by Hoyu. We also offer cold perms and Japanese straight perms — precision chemical services that require deep expertise.
We are one of only a few salons in New York chosen by Hoyu, a major Japanese cosmetic company, to carry this premium 5-step salon treatment. A mini Bykarte shampoo and treatment are included in every service price.

Nail Art Studio
From minimal one-color gel manicures to elaborate full-set art with magnet gel, chrome, glitter, studs, and gems. Every set is uniquely crafted.
Our Space
MEY New York has two floors — a pure, glowing white aesthetic on the 1st floor and a vintage speakeasy-style basement with great music from the '50s, '60s, and '70s.

Before You Book
Appointments cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the scheduled time will be charged the full service price. For appointments over 2.5 hours, cancellations within 48 hours incur a 50% charge. Late arrivals over 20 minutes may result in rescheduling with full cancellation fees applied.
After scheduling a color service, you will receive an email requesting reference photos of your desired color and current hair. These images help us determine if the allotted time is sufficient. Failure to provide photos may result in appointment cancellation.
A tax (4.5%) and card transaction fee (3.25%) apply to credit card payments. These fees are not incurred when paying in cash. Tips for stylists are accepted in cash or through Venmo.
All services rendered, cancellation/reschedule policy fees, and in-salon service change charges are non-refundable. If unsatisfied with a service, contact us within 7 days and we will schedule a complimentary adjustment.
Each service comes with guidelines to help you prepare. If preparations are not met, we may not be able to proceed as scheduled and our cancellation policy will apply. Contact us within 7 days of your visit if any service is unsatisfactory.
Product returns or exchanges must be requested within 7 days of receipt. Products must be unopened and undamaged. Defective or damaged products must be reported within 7 days.
